Song Story

Bryan Fowler, Jordan Kauflin, and Ben Shive brought the idea of this hymn of illumination for kids to us. We worked on a chorus that helped mark out the process of what it means to meditate on God’s word - to hear, to believe, to trust, to obey, to walk in it every day. It carries a fatherly tone.

Jordan imagined singing this to his kids, instructing them to know and follow the Word of the Lord. The last verse changes to “Jesus is the Word of the Lord” for He is the message of the Scriptures.
